About New Start Counselling and Psychotherapy

Counselling and Psychotherapy that suits your needs.Welcome to New Start Counselling and Psychotherapy. My name is Samantha (Sam) Seymour, and I am passionate about helping women with their mental health and well-being. I believe that flexibility, openness, and an unbiased approach are essential in the counselling space, as each individual has unique worldviews, values, and perceptions of life.

At New Start, I recognise that everyone is an individual, and my approach needs to resonate with you to provide the best opportunity for growth and change. There is no 'one size fits all' method in counselling, so I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs.

I have lived experience with MS, and through my own journey, I have formulated the AIM method (Acceptance, Identifying, Movement), which helps you stay mentally strong no matter what life challenges come your way. I specialise in working with people diagnosed with MS, supporting parents through the teen years, and understanding the impact of childhood experiences.

I understand that issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD (trauma), and relationship challenges can seem daunting. With the right support, I can help you view these issues differently, understand them more deeply, and find ways to overcome their impacts.

I work with NDIS clients who are plan or self managed. Contact me today and we can have a chat about how I may be able to support you or your clients.
