About AYD SUPPORT

Disability Support focusing on promoting individuality and self confidenceOverview:

At AYD Support (Achieve Your Dreams), we believe in a world where everyone's unique capabilities are celebrated and given the space to shine. Our mission is to dismantle societal limitations placed on individuals with disabilities, providing tailored, high-quality support that truly makes a difference.

Founded by Joshua Kingston, whose personal journey with autism inspired a lifelong commitment to transforming disability support, AYD Support prioritises individual potential over the perceived limitations of disability.

Services:

We specialise in coordinated support services in the disability sector, with a primary focus on early intervention for children between the ages of 8 to 16 years old. Our dedicated and experienced team works in partnership with families, allied health professionals, schools and other key stakeholders to develop and implement personalised support plans.

  1. Improved Daily Living:
  • Building independence and resilience: We focus on empowering individuals with ASD to lead fulfilling lives through the development of life skills, such as managing personal care, maintaining a home environment, and navigating digital platforms.

  • Enhancing learning outcomes: We work with individuals to enhance their learning experiences by focusing on executive functioning skills, problem-solving capabilities, and organizational skills. This helps individuals to manage their responsibilities effectively and build confidence in their abilities.

  1. Increased Social and Community Participation: At AYD Support, we understand the unique challenges that individuals with ASD can face when navigating the community, beyond just the social aspect. we attack this area of development through two aspects; Fostering community integration & facilitating social engagement.

  1. Fostering community integration: Our one-on-one support aims to foster a sense of belonging and safety within the community, working alongside our clients to develop essential life skills. These skills range from using public transportation, shopping for groceries, attending appointments, to exploring new environments. We provide our clients with the tools and strategies to interact comfortably with the world around them, promoting independence and integration within their community.

  1. Facilitating social engagement: While we recognize that navigating the community is more than just social interaction, we understand the value of social connections. We support our clients in establishing and maintaining meaningful social relationships, guiding them towards active participation in community events, and fostering connections with peers. This helps to improve their overall quality of life and promotes a sense of belonging within the community.

  1. Fostering a positive self-identity: At AYD SUPPORT, we believe that helping our clients build on their unique identity and sense of self is crucial to their overall well-being and growth. We recognize that individuals with autism often face the complexities of navigating a society that imposes expectations to conform. However, we aim to shift this dynamic. Our focus is on embracing our clients' uniqueness, promoting self-acceptance, and fostering environments where they can comfortably express their individuality. We work to equip our clients with skills and strategies that foster mutual understanding - both for individuals navigating the world and for the world to better understand them. We support them in carving out their own paths, advoca
