What is therapy?
The human mind is profoundly complex. A useful way to understand the mind is to divide it into the conscious and unconscious minds. The conscious mind is the thinking, perceiving, judging part that exists through the five senses, which carry signals to the nervous system and the brain. It defines our thoughts, actions, and awareness. By contrast, the subconscious mind is the storehouse for all our memories, emotions, behaviours, habits, beliefs and values. It records and holds everything we see, hear, touch, taste and think. The unconscious mind is a reservoir of feelings, thoughts, urges and memories, which are outside of our conscious awareness. All of our behaviours are driven from the unconscious mind. Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy can help bring our unconscious feelings to the surface, so we can understand and alter unhelpful feelings stored in the subconscious. This allows us to reveal deep-rooted thoughts about our experiences, our world, and the people around us to obtain a balanced frame of mind.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis is a state from which you can make extremely powerful changes in your life. It is the state in which you are the most receptive, creative, and intuitive. What happens during hypnosis is the agreed surrender of your body and mind, which allows you to relax fully and open your mind to safe suggestions and positive changes delivered by a trained and trusted psychotherapist.
A number of ailments can be treated with professional hypnotherapy, from obsessions to anxieties, phobias, depression, eating disorders, insomnia and even the physical pain associated with cancer or migraine.
