About SaferSteps

I am a peer-led, strengths based recovery coach.“Nothing about us, without us”.

Kellene, a new consultant leading SaferSteps, is a dedicated advocate for Childhood Trauma, Family, and Domestic Violence. She offers the NDIS community a commitment to empowering neurodivergent individuals and those who may be marginalised or vulnerable. Her advocacy is characterised by a peer-led, strength-based approach, drawing on her accreditation as a Protective Behaviours Practitioner to cultivate environments prioritising safety.

Drawing from her journey as an Autistic individual, an NDIS participant, who also navigates Complex Post-Traumatic Stress and chronic pain, Kellene infuses her work with authenticity and depth. Focused on social equity, she advocates the voices of the underrepresented, striving to establish safe, neuro-affirming spaces.

In 2024, Kellene has enhanced her support skills by studying Accredited Safe and Together Core Training, Mapping Perpetrator Patterns in Men’s Violence, and Responding to Adult Sexual Violence & Child Sexual Abuse in Family and Domestic Violence contexts, with a particular emphasis on recognising coercive control dynamics and safeguarding people with disabilities.

Kellene further extends her support to individuals grappling with medical trauma aftermath and navigating complex systems that should have offered support and healing. With a decade of experience in governance and policy, she sheds light on legislative frameworks and best practices and empowers people with guidance on their intrinsic human rights.
